I had laparoscopic sigmoid colectomy 8 days ago and I feel like new, I no longer has the chronic pain in my abdomen. I was hospitalized for 2 days with literally no pain at all. My recovery has been fantastic I would say if you have diverticulitis for a long time I would not hesitate to have surgery with him. I highly recommend Dr Garcia.

The surgeon is fantastic, personable, professional and honest. Surgery went well. When you exit the hospital Nurses don’t tell you what size & reference number to order colostomy bags for future. Ask Garcia to write a Dr order with details so insurance knows what to order. I had to run back to the hospital to ask for model #’s. This is a headache & lack of organization which needs some work. Dr. Alvaro Garcia is an amazing surgeon with a great bed side manner, a lovely office staff, and top notch surgery centers. Despite having a busy practice, his staff at both office locations is always hospitable and welcoming, and you will always be seen in timely fashion. Dr. Garcia is just a higher standard of health care! I would be doing such an incredible disservice if I didn’t elaborate on our experience with Dr. Garcia and how lucky we were to find him, but suffice it to say that I would recommend him. My 18 year-old son started to feel discomfort in his groin area. Several days later he was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia by his primary care physician, who insisted we see a surgeon immediately. I began calling for consult appointments from the list of local surgeons provided by our primary care physician. To my chagrin the soonest available appointments were 4 – 6 weeks away. As the weeks went by, my son’s level of discomfort increased and driving became very… painful. We saw three surgeons and their responses to my son’s pain ranged from disagreeing that he had a hernia to dismissal of my concerns with his methods despite my son’s medical complications. After seeing these three surgeons, we were totally disheartened. The next morning I came across Dr. Garcia’s name and called his office. The person that answered the phone was polite, well informed, and above all, cared enough to listen to my concerns and frustrations and made room for my son to see the doctor the next day. I was completely blown away when first meeting him. He was a young, attentive, and dynamic surgeon with a ready smile on his face. Both charming and personable, it is clear that he has a passion for his work and really does care! After a thorough exam, he concluded that my son definitely had a hernia and further stated that he wouldn’t be surprised if he had one on the left side as well. We then discussed my son’s rare medical condition which requires a strict anesthesia protocol be followed due to the possibility of anaphylaxis shock. He encouraged us to meet with the anesthesiologist, Dr. Barack, prior to surgery to put our minds at ease. He was equally fantastic and knowledgeable. We appreciated his willingness to answer all of our questions. I was still worried about my son’s medical condition though, because of the significant danger it posed and voiced my concerns to Dr. Garcia, the day before the surgery, to cancel. To my surprise, not only was he not upset that I was cancelling the surgery, but he was in agreement that I should follow my instincts as a parent because he would’ve done the same. There aren’t many medical professionals that would do that, most discount the opinions of parents as unintelligent. This man is amazing! He referred us to a colleague of his to have my son seen and tested for his current condition. Four weeks later my son thankfully had his surgery. Special consideration and accommodations were taken by Dr. Garcia and his staff to minimize my sons reaction to extreme temperatures in the OR, the instruments that were used during surgery, and the anesthesia. The surgery took longer than expected, not only was there a second hernia as he suspected, but they were congenital. I was truly impressed with the nice facility, the caring staff, and friendly attitudes and smiles. I can say without hesitation, that I would recommend Dr. Garcia and his staff to family, friends, and strangers.

I contacted Dr. Garcia at the suggestion of my Primary Care Physician, and I am tremendously glad that I did. Dr Garcia was all that one could have asked for in terms of his experience and skill. In addition both he and his staff were attentive, efficient, caring, effective, and totally focused on patient care. When I first met with Dr. Garcia, he immediately recognized that my situation required expeditious attention, and he was willing to put in the extra time to address my need. Because my health situation was rather complicated, the coordination of, and clearance from several other specialists were required. Dr. Garcia's staff were dogged in pursuing the cooperation of those other offices. I am pleased to report that the surgery went very well and the recovery was both quick and virtually pain free. World-class service with Dr. Garcia And staff. Dr. Garcia was the only doctor that help me with A hernia repair gone bad with a previous doctor. I wish I would have met Dr. Garcia before I had my first surgery it would have saved me from all the pain and discomfort I went thought for 8 months before finding him. If I ever will need a Surgen I will first go to him before anyone else I recommend him 100%

I had colon rectal surgery because of my diverticulosis, he removed part of my sigmoid colon, during the surgery he discover couple more serious issues which he immediately corrected, one of the issues was that my large intestine was stocked together with my small intestine and twisted, also found my uretra was stocked together with my intestine. All issues were resolved with no complications, he visited me numerous times after my surgery. Pain level after surgery was minimal, I was walking to the bathroom by myself the very next day, I think he is a great doctor super smart, he looks very young, but remember looks are deceiving, he is an excellent and experienced surgeon, he would be the one I would trust with my family members.
