Dr. Janice Alexander, MD

Dr. Alexander has been my gyno doctor for nearly 20 years. I made her my PCP about 3 years ago (I didn't realize she did Family care and could be my PCP) She is very caring and deeply concerned for her patients. She calls her patients with results and she has given her personal cell during crisis situations. Sometimes her appointments run behind but it is only because she gives such excellent care to everyone, she is worth the wait! She is a doctor who will give you a hug when it seems the news she had to deliver was rough or when your telling her about a visit with a specialist that you're finding hard to handle. Who does that, anymore? Dr. Alexander, that's who! If you are lucky enough to have her as your doctor, you have been greatly blessed!

After almost a full year of living in horrible pain and multiple tests from my Dr at the time, I found Dr. Alexander. What a blessing. She did 1/2 of the first test my clinic did and told me that I had Endometriosis. This was within minutes of meeting her. She started me on a treatment plan and within the first month of treatment my pain was minimal. I have been going to Dr Alexander ever since. She is compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable. I have felt very comfortable with her from the beginning. I trust her completely. Thank you Dr Alexander, I am so happy I found you.

I first saw Dr. Alexander based on great reviews from friends in 2012. My long-time OBGYN had left the state and I was searching for someone new. For my first appt., I had to wait at least 20minutes. There were two other occasions where the receptionist called me and said to come a few hours later than planned. This was inconvenient, but life happens and I worked it out. Shortly after my first appointment I became pregnant with my first. I knew it was not good because I wouldn't stop bleeding. I saw the doctor twice, and both times she became frustrated that she couldn't see the baby. I began doing my own researched and was worried it was tubal, but she didn't advise me to do anything. Then the day came where I blacked out on the freeway (yes, I pulled over in time) and I called her office and cell in a panic. No response. I had severe pain and called again the next morning. The nurse told me to get to the ER (bless her heart). I did, and they found 1/4 liter of blood in my abdomen… and I needed emergency surgery as the baby had bursted my tube. They were ready for a blood transfusion and was told I could have lost my life if I left it unattended much longer. I understand mistakes happen and was just blessed I was okay. Then in 2014, I start getting insurance statements from an insurance carrier I haven't had for over one year. Dr. Alexander's office started to bill me for visits that occurred over a year before. The timing and details on my statements didn't make sense so I've been in contact with both the insurance company and Dr. Alexander's office. It's been five months of back-and-forth and insurance against the doctor's office. The last straw is when the latest bill I just received was MORE than the amount I originally inquired about. I will pay the bill but will never deal with this office again. I'm not the type of person to write a negative review, but I don't want others to experience what I have. I do NOT recommend Dr. Janice Alexander. She is a very nice and compassionate woman but I don't think she should be practicing anymore. 'Chaos' is how I would describe my overall experience in one word.

Dr. Alexander found my problem and is helping to resolve it hopefully. I am surprised not one of the other reviews indicated what I found. That is after my 2nd visit I researched my condition and had many questions. I thought I was polite and I never questioned her judgement, but was curious if other types of treatments might not help me. She got rather short with me and didn't seem to want to answer my questions as to why she wanted me to stay on one medication vs another. She was not open to anything I wanted to try. I probably won't return.

Compassionate and Respectful. Took time to make sure I understood her process and that I could call her for more information. Dr. Alexander is not an assembly-line practice. She is thorough and personal, very warm and caring. Her knowledge is solid.
